In Isshiki-Kira-Hazu Coastal Area of Nishio City, we will conduct a demonstration experiment of a new mobility service that serves secondary transportation and intra-district circulation. In this area, which has tourist destinations that attract visitors, comprehensive transportation management including parking management, public transportation fare and ticketing policies, and introduction of new mobility services will be demonstrated to calm down the visitors’ car traffic and enhance local mobility in the district.
We will measure traffic of private car inflow and design measures to manage tourists behavior in order to reduce the inflow of tourists’ private cars. Those measures will be co-created with local residents for better social acceptance. Furthermore, we will combine measures to provide secondary transportation for visitors using railroads, and clarify the feasibility of implementing mobility services, personal authentication at transportation nodes, and nudge-type induction demonstrations, as well as institutional and technical issues and the possibility of expanding to other areas.
